The Nasdaq 100 Index closed at a record high last Friday (2nd), partly because the world's largest company by market cap reached a new high for the first time since May.
NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US), which accounts for 13% of the Nasdaq weighting and 8% of the S&P 500 weighting, rose 1.3% last Friday, ending a seven-week sideways trend during a period marked by a high-stakes meeting between the president and executives of "Super Intelligence" companies.
The rally pushed the market cap of the semiconductor business led by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang to nearly USD5.7 trillion. Based on NVIDIA options pricing, the company's market cap is likely to cross USD6 trillion before the end of this month.
According to delta market pricing for NVIDIA options expiring this week and on October 30, the probability of the company reaching a USD6 trillion market cap before the end of this month is currently about 50%, while the probability of achieving the target within this week is 13%.
The indicator measures the sensitivity of options prices to changes in share prices. The market also indicates that the probability of NVIDIA reaching a USD6 trillion market cap before December 18 is about 67%.
